All the information on the websites is not correct.
Here is he is shown as a sansi Gujar which is not true. Sansi is altogehter a different tribe which used to have marital relations with jats. If you dont know who Sansis , Go to any vegetable market in Delhi and you will find 50% of them as sansis.
You can not steal the history from them if they are illiterate.
In 1756 AD Charrat Singh: a Sansi Gujar took the possession of the small village

Government of India has named Raja Sansi Airport after Maharaja ranjit Singh who himself belong to Sansi tribe. It is great tribute to the Maharaja and it also conclude that Maharaja Ranjeet Singh belonged to Sansi tribe. By doing this Government of India also ensured that History can not be stolen by others, otherwise this airport should have been named as Raja Jat Airport or Raja Gujranwala airport.

Raja Sansi is the name of a village at the outskirts of Amritsar. It is a historic village as Maharaja Ranjit Singh's ancestors used to live there. The Maharaja himself belonged to the Sansi tribe.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh's rule in Punjab is well known to everyone, especially to the students of history. He was unquestionably a democratic ruler. I, therefore, suggest that the name of Raja Sansi international airport should be named after this great son of Punjab — Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It will be a great tribute to the Maharaja.
