Hi All Great Gurjars, The Holy cave of Amaranth was originally found by a Gujjar "Buta Malik". The Malik Family is still looking after the same. There are now 59 Malik families working for the Holy Cave. More Info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amarnathen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amarnath#Discovery_of_Holy_CaveThe story narrated by people about the discovery of this Holy Cave is of a Gujjar ( shepherd) Buta Malik . He is given the credit of discovering this Holy Cave . Story goes like this , that a saint gave Buta Malik a bag full of Coal. On reaching his home when he opened the bag , to his utter surprise the bag was full of gold coins . This made him overwelmed with joy. He ran to thank the Saint . But, what he found was that the Saint had disappeared . Instead , he found The Holy Cave and Shiv Lingam there in . He announced the discovery of this to the Villagers. Then onwards this has become the sacred place of Pilgrimage . Regards Ashok harsana

Hi Ashok,
Since the days if Imperial Pratihars the Gujjars worship Shiva and Godess Kali.
Kalka (The famous kalka temple of Delhi) temple is visited mostly by Gujjars since the days of the rule of Gujjar Tanwars in Delhi (Dhillika).
Somnath Temple was built by Gujjars Chawras and rebuilt by Gujjar Solankis. Later Sardar Patel (A Gujjar of Lewa clan) sanctioned the funds from the Government to rebuilt the Somnath temple. I would like to mention that at the same time he got the similar funds sanctioned for renovation of Jama Masjid in Delhi.
During Gujjar Pratihars rule, as per the historical records of one of the rashtrakuta king, he destroyed the Kalpriya temple ( Kalpriya is the name of Godess Kali )and the present place where the temple was located is Kalpi (Near Kanpur and Kannuaj) .
The Mahakal temple at Ujjain was built and worshipped by Gujjar Parmars.
Gujjar Guhilots also used to worship the lord Shiva and there is famous temple of of lord is still there in the fort of Chittor.
Gujjars Chauhans also used to worship lord Shiva.
