Hello to all gujjars, An Arab traveller Abu Junaid came to Arya Vrat (India ) in 9th centuryA.D.He writes in his BIAZ(Diary or travelague), "Gujjars are the most powerful people of india. They are suporter of humanity and are strict enemy of cruelity. They believe to finish theirselves in others welfare as a honor of their nation.Gujjars force is also very powerful whose strength is eighty lakh.I wish that I would be also from this Gujjar nation(KASH MEIN BHE GUJJAR HOTA)". Ibne Khurdaba writes thatthere are sevan superior communites in India.Al-kujaria(Gujjars)is the most superior.Every caste respect and obey them. The rullers are also chosen from this community.(History of Elliot & Dawson Page no.16 & 17). The most honest traveller Hieun Seiung's travellague clearly shows gUJJARS as kashtrya. Now the positin is so much changed. In the modern and educated people thinking Gujjars are backward now because lack of education.it was in past when people starts to get education. One English Historiansays that"The sons of Esau these selfrespectfull Gujjars who love illiteracy. They think getting education is like mortal sin.Alongwith their decaying they have maken illetracy their coverlet. They will never send their childern to school for study and will proove this"COME AND RUN THE SCHOOL". Actually Gujjars not gave much importnce to education at that time because they were rich with their animals. The current position is that everybody is getting education and shying to call himself a Gujjar.Uneducated gujjars never shy to call himself a Gujjar.Educated Gujjar never prefer to marry in Gujjar community but uneducated prefer to marriage in community. Hello Dr. A. R. Sindhu I am an educated Gujjar and tells everyone with pride I AM GUJJAR. I am married and my wife is Gujjar. So, above quoted is not a generalised statement. Moreover what you wrote about the illiteracy scenario, is not perfectly OK. In Moughal period, when Rajputs made allies with Moughals, Gujjars were fighting against them. When British came to India they presumed things from the word of mouth of Mughals and Rajputs and to no exception we were fighting British also. You may please refer to 1857 revolt thread in this forum. British categorised Gujjars as Notified Tribes. Any Gujjar adult male could be arrested without any reasons. Properties of Gujjars were confiscated. This very phenomenon lead to over shoot in illetracy. After independence, Govt. of India branded Gujjars as Denotified Tribe and Backward Class. Things are changing but we cannot expect a step up in situation. What ever happend to us in 700 years cannot be compensated in 59 years. But yes we had a golden history and we will have a Platinum Future. We need a few more like Mr. A. P. Singh, Ashok Harshana, Gurjareshhwar. Best Regards KPS Gujjar

The fighters certainly lack in modern education system and that is true with Gujjars as well. In 1857 the first India war of Independence , the Gujjars took active part in most part of the country and the Gujjar children could not get the proper modern education. Ther are many Gujjar villages where all the males of more than 12 years of age were either hanged hanged or jailed. Even the Iron man of India Sardar vallabh Bhai patel could not left untouched and he also suffered as his fahter was also jailed in 1857.
Here is how Mr. KL Punjabi (ICS) in his book "The indomitable Sardar" published by Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan , described the early life of the Iron man of India.
"Vallabhbhai Patel belonged to the famous clan of Leva Patidars who played a noteable role in the history of Gujarat. They were Gujars who came from Punjab and had occupied the rich charotar land between Mahi and Tapti rivers. Bold and intrepid fightersthey were possessed of will and resolution but they grew weary of incessant wars and turned their attention to peacrful living, exchanging the Kshatriya sword for the plough. By skills and hard work they got the best out of their land and cattle. With thier spirit of adventure they combined initiative, enterprise and perservance. They were men of strong passion and high tempers and when aroused obeyed no law but that of their own will.
About his father Jhaverbhai: The blood of his ancestors stirred in him and he left his wife and land to fight for the freedom of the country. In his early twenties he joined the forces of Laxmi Bai, the rani of Jhansi, pledged to drive the British out of India but she failed to get any help from other rulers who were divided by mutual jealousness and internal fueds. Most of them were content with being the Vassals of Britishers as long as they could indulge in their varities and pleasures. Nevertheless the freedom loving people made a desperate effort. In the first clash of the struggle in 1857, Jhaverbhai was taken prisoner at Indore and detained by Malhar rao Holker."
This is the early life of the Iron man of india. His father was jailed in 1857 and obviously his education must have suffered a lot. Many Gujjars suffered the same fate as his father and many others suffered much more who were hanged. But still we are not badly off even in education. We inherit the same Passion and same Will which Sardar inherited from our ancestors. Sardar got himself educated on his own and completed and topped the five years degree course in Law in London in only three years thogh he had to remain there in London for complete five years as per the rule of the University.
My own family suffered a lot in 1857 the first war of Independence. From my maternal side also many people were hanged. We belong to the famous clan of Nagdis (Nagars), the Rana of Nagda and later we were rulers of Parikshat Garh state which was taken by Britishers in 1823 itself as a punishment for revolt against them. I have given the conclusine evidence in this regard in another thread (Gujjars and 1857) how our fort was converted to a police station and how our land was distributed to our own farmers who supported them. These very people who fought against their own country in 1857 call themselves now as land owners and keep seaching for occasions to speak bad against Gujjars, their earlier lords.
In that scenario , My father also including many others from our ruling clan could not get a chance to get proper educations but my Grandfater regained some of his land by shear power and strong passion which we inherited from our forefathers and my father has added some more but could not achieve the same status as my Grand-Grand father. Now in the third generation I did my Graduation in Electronics and Communication Engineering and my elder brother did hid Ph.D. in Engineering and is a scientirist of world repute. I know there are many other Gujjars who are well placed but they dont like to discuss and divide the society on caste lines at the work place. This should not be considered that we are not proud of our Glorious History or we hide our caste. Also I feel that it is the people who have inferiority complex introduce themselves on caste lines but I have certainly not seen a Gujjar hiding his caste and I dont find any reason for doing so since the most of Glorious past of the History of the country belonged to only our forefathers.
These are the example how the fighters has to suffer as far education is concerned but they are made stronger and better than others by God (by inheriting the royal genes), and I am sure that we will certainly be able to cover for this lost period. Regards.

Hi Mr. Sindhu, In 916 A.D., Abu Zaid ( Probably present day Zaidis are from the clan of this writers and they are considered scholars among Muslims like Brahmins among Hindus, if I am correct) has written these statements while completing the "Silsilat-ut Tawarikh" of Sulaiman. Regards. AP Singh

Hello to kps and APSINGH, You can take lesson from history but you cant live in history.Especialy when your history history is no more yours now and more dangerouse is that you also dont want to take it back.If you are an educated gujjar ,married in gujjar family and says proudly yourself gujjar than what you think is problem solved?.I am a non gujjar i have write some articles which are printed in different non gujjar newspapers and magazines by non gujjars.Sometime brfore a pathan Saadullah Jan Barq writes in daily Expess that gujjars arte peacefull cow loving fellow and pathans and aryans were warior and horse riders in which reply i writr gujjar as local aryan warior and decendents of Ram Chandra AND Krishna. But the article was not printed as i aspected because incharge of article page of that newspaper Latif Chaudhry is a gujjar. Is it not strange that if you write against gujjar then he has no objection and if you write in favour to clear your position then he says it is prejudice.I AHAVE ALREADY ASKED HIM NOT TO CALL HIMSELF A GUJJAR.iTS NOT ONLY HIM NEARLY EVERY HIGHLY EDUCATED GUJJAR'S BEHAVE IS LIKE THAT.Suppose you are sleeping in deep sleep and somebody is knocking your door early in the morning and you ask who is it then reply will be only one gujjar for milk. Why is that because only they call themself gujjar.Believe me i have so many educated gujjar f riends and they have never talk a single word about their community it not means they not accept they are gujjars but they also not says it openly. So please my frinds you have to fight for your historical right and have put your chapter in history courses in new education system thats the only way to proud to educated gujjars.I heard in last govt education minister did some changes in history had he done something for your history. If he did something for others at that time then why cant somebody for to you now. In the end i ask to every gujjar to e-mail Latif Chaudhry Incarge of article page of daily Express to print my artice. His e-mail adress is (latifch@mediapk.com).I have alredy sent a message to hom verably to not to call himself a gujjar but i think he also not has objection on this because he is a educated gujjar. Hello Drallah Rakha Sindhu,
Our history is not stolen by anybody. Whatever I have written about history of India and Gujjars in this websites in various threads, I have provided conclusive evidence and the writers of these historical records are reputed historians and are non-Gujjars. We can not expect Col. James Todd to know about each and every Gotra of Gujjars. He has written that he could not find overlords Pratihars anywhere in India and no bard who came in to his contact told him that Pratihar is Gotra of Gujjars . Similarly he wrote about Chauhans,Solankis,Parmars,Dhamas etc. without knowing that these the Gotras of Gujjars.
The Gujjars who are associated with milk business are not even 10% of the total population of Gujjars but fortunately they are the ones who are 100% close to our ancestors since they are isolated from others and are not mixed with others through intercaste marriages. After the fall of Imperial Gujjars in 10th. century the children from these intercaste associations in were called as Rajputs retaining their gotra from the fathers side. Technically if you take Maharana Pratap ( Father Gujjar Guhilot and mother of Gujjar Chauhan Gotra) or Prithvi Raj Chauhans ( Father of Gujjar Chauhan Gotra and mother of Gujjar Tanwar Gotra) both were Gujjars since their father and mothers both were Gujjars but people with little knowlege call them as rajputs as anon technical person can not find any difference between lamp and a bulb. I am not taking the example of Maharana Pratap and Prothviraj Chuahan to get respect but people with little knowlege know them very well otherwise they are very small in stature in comparison to the our other common ancestors like Nagbhatta the Great, Mihirbhoj the Great, Bappa Rawal, Ghoga Bapa Chauhan, Bhimdev Solanki,Sidraj Jai Singh Solanki and Kumar Pal Solanki. If you go to the site of Mewar the present king also claim that they are from Gujjar origin and proudly shares the Glory of Imperial Gurjars.
The Bappa Rawal, the most respected king of that clan was from Solanki branch of Gujjars and the credit for the glory he enjoyed in the history goes to the overlord Nagabhatta under whom he fought all his battles. The actual name of Bappa rawal was Kalbhoj.
Half of the army under Rana Pratap which fought Akbar in the battle of Haldi Ghati belonged to Hasan Khan Mewati who was Gujjar of Tanwar Gotra. That shows that at that point of time only kingdom of Gujjars which was left was only Mewar and Hasan Khan Mewati showed the courage of a Gujjar and the will that Gujjar is a Gujjar first otherwise ground situation at that time was clear from the begining that Rana Pratap can not defeat the might of Akbar.
Situation of these Gujjars who are associated with the milk will also change. The milk produced by the Gujjars should demand a premium not because it is produced by the children of the overlords of the forefathers of the consumers but it is pure Organic milk and the cattles owned by Gujjars does not eat the fodder grown out of Chemical fertiliser. Hence I strongly recommend these Gujjars not to leave this profession but to change the style of business and start selling the milk in the packed form. I would request to the Gujjar who are associated with this business at high scale ( In Delhi there are atleast two groups who are doings more than 1000 Crore business a year) to catch this opportunity as it will certainly be benefital to all the people involved including the consumers.
Regards.
