Hello Mr. AP Singh, Tariq Bhai and Bashir Bhai......
I want to tell you all, that bhatti or Bhaati or Bhatiya residing in North India and Pakistan's frontiers are Gurjars.
Hardly 20% of them called themselves Rajputs. They Reside near JaisalMer which was founded their Kings.
But Originally Bhatti is a separate tribe, It took its name from their ancestor named Bhatti a great Warrior.
In India The name Bhatti came into existence in the 1st century BC. They fought with Earlier Hunas in the Punjab Area (Known as Haryana These Days).... Some Historian say that Bhattis were originally the YaduVanshis ( The Clan of Shri Krishna). They were numerous in the Haryana and Rajsthan Area between 100 BC to 1150 AD . They took part in many descisive fights fought in Punjab, Sind and Rajputana.
DevRAj (1156 AD) and Sahal Singh were from the same Bhatti Dynasty. They were called Rajputs in some books but never called Gurjars. Rawal was their Surname.
The another famous person from this tribe was Abdullah or Dulla Bhatti of Pindi Bhattiyan, which apparently survives as a town even today, now between Lahore and Islamabad in Punjab.
No where in the Gurjar History Books it had ben mentioned as a Gurjar Tribe.
After the Downfall of Bhattis most of them converted or merged with other warrior clans like Rajputs, Gurjars and Kunbis. (It was a very normal thing before 1000 years, The castism was not that solid and anybody from the same Varna could transfer between two castes or tribes.) There are many examples of gurjars turning into Rajputs. Jaats, Rajputs turning into Gurjars.
For Example: The enviety of Gurjars and Rashtrakutas is very well known. But we can Find Rathi (desendent of the same Rashtrakutas or Rathores) at a Large sacle in Gurjars.
Today more than 75% Bhati claim that they are Gurjars and they are considered as a very Brave Gurjar Clan in Delhi & UP Area. But even today you can easily differentiate between other Gurjars and Bhaatis due to their Physical Attributes.
One should not confuse between Bhaati, BHati, BHatti and BHatiya. Rather they belong to same Origin but now Bhatiya in India are known as a "Baniya" Caste. Bhaatis are Gurjars, While Bhattis are Sikhs.
Another famous Sikh Surname Sidhdhu, Sandhu are also an offshoot of Bhatti Tribe.
I think it was a very long post which might end all the Arguements regarding the Bhattis......
Regards
Ashok Harsana

dear ashok it was interesting to read your what you say long post it clarifies certain points and raises certain questions my view is thatin the past some other tribe/people merged with the gujjar so we have identical gotras clans in other nations sometimes the identical names are result of belonging to a common locality one thing you may tell me are there gotra/clanns among bhaati gujjars?

dear bashir &tarique bhai assalam o alaikum there r many bhatti gujjars in lahore. but they r not lahori. they have migrated from delhi india. in punjab more bhattis r nais(hair dressers). my friend tarique gujjar who is a gujjar writter says that chauhans , bhattis ,tanwar ,toor or any other gotras who do not say them gujjar r not real chahans ,bhattis, tanwar, or toors. originally they were the workers of that gotras. after the fall of gujjar rule these workers claimed them to these gotras. tarique gujjar says that the real gujjar cannot change his family.

Hi Mazhar, In India in Gujarat state there are Gurjar Brahmins as well. They are supposed to be top class brahmins. At the time of Imperial Gurjars they must be providing their services only to Royal class and to nobody below that status. That is why they are called as Gurjar Brahmins. Similarly there are thakur barbers who used to provide their services only to thakurs. But in the normal practice they dont call themselves as Thakur nais but Thakur only. Regards. Sarnam Singh

dear mazhar/bashir in my opinion there is a possibility of other people joing a tribe which is strong in some place or hiding family name in case you are powerless or for some other reasons this is a very common practice in south asia i did not know about bhatti gujjar in lahore i read about some gujjar in karachi writing bhaatya as surname chauhan joined the gujjar nation at some point in history never heard about bhatti gujran near jhelum

dear tarique gujjar assalam o alaikum yoy r right but your some points r wrong. in sub continent only gujjar tribe has a history.
gujjars were illiterate because of there decline.
there was no gujjar historian in past.
gujjar iss muamley mein andhey aur behray they.
unhen nahin pata tha key history mein un key sat
kya ho raha hai.
tarique bhai ye mubaligha nahin.mein tu yey kehta
hoon key gujjar history mein aap jitna bhe mubaligha kar lein wo such hoga.
aap sochein gey key gujjar hoon iss leay aisi
battien keh raha hoon.magar mein kehta hoon key agar mein gujjar na bhi hota aur meri aankhon
par taasub ki patti na hoti too mein yehi kehtakey
in subcontinent gujjars r the best.
har kisi nein gujjaron ko history mein ignore kya
magar har kisi ko apney forefather mein gujjaron
ka naam lena para.
aap iss internet par kisi bhi popular tribe ki
history read karein aapko gujjar ka naam milega.
ye darust hay ke chauhan ,bhatti .aur boohat si
gotein dosri biraderion mein bhi hain.magar in tamam gotras key kings ne apney aapko gujjar
kaha.
bhatti gujjar jehlum ka boohat bara village hai.
lahore mein bhatti gujjar tehsilbazar inner city
mein rehtey hain.mein ney pehley bhi battaya tha
key wo mohajir hain aur urdu speaking hain.
lahore key gujjar unse zyada taaluq nahin rakhtay aur unhein gwala kehtey hain.lahore key
gujjar sirf punjabi ko gujjar mantey hain.
mein iss baat ka qail mukhalif hoon key jogujjar nahin ussko bhi gujjar kaha jaey.
gujjaron key pass personalities ka khazana hai
unheun kya zarurat hai doosroon ko gujjar bananein ki.
ye time gujjaron ke zawal ka time samjha jata hai
gujjaron ko illiterate samjha jata hai magar hai
koi poet sahir ludhianvi jaisa.hai koi mufakir ch
rahmat ali jaisa. hai koi bahadur majour tufail
shahid nishani haider jaisa.
aisi hazaroon personalities hain.
iss leay gujjar history par shak karney ki koy
zaroorat nahin.
khuda hafiz mazhar gujjar
