Posted: 12/4/2004 7:35:43 PM
Dear Sir
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you as a valued member of our Gujjar Pakistani community in Brent and surrounding areas to attend the forthcoming forth meeting being held on Sunday 21st November 2004
At:- THE PAKISTAN CENTRE, ( Behind Willesden green underground station
STATION PERADE, WALM LANE NW2)
WILLESDEN GREEN,
LONDON NW2.
Sir, Over decades we have seen other communities within the Pakistanis community set up their own “Tanzeams” or associations for their own specific groups to benefit their own specific members.
This is exactly what we as a Gujjar community are hoping to achieve to form a “ Gujjar Tanzeam”or association. Most importantly this can only be possible with your much valued help and participation.
At Present, we have a vision, and an idea of what we would like to achieve, however we can assure you that we certainly do not have all the answers. We look to you to provide the foresight projections and the viability of all the suggestions being put forward.
We vehemently believe that we have the organisational expertise and educational talent within our Gujjar community to make this “Tanzeam” association a success. We very much would like graduates of all fields of learning to come forward and assist in the formulation of the all important Gujjar Tanzeam.
New Vibrant blood provides new and vibrant ideas, this is our aim and we accept that for the young generation to lead from the front is the only correct way forward.
Let us all within the Gujjar community try to face and understand reality. Yes we are all Pakistanis and very proud and patriotic at that if we may say so ourselves. However when others in the community have excluded the Gujjars from their own personal “tanseams or associations “it has to be asked where we the Gujjar community stand when the “Pakistani community drum is being beaten”? The Gujjars are good enough to be included in the “Pakistani Community” sound bite but we Gujjars are not good enough to be asked to join others individual group “Tanzeams or association.
Reality is something we all understand, because it is something that affects us all in our daily life. Ask your self, What benefits have been available to you personally and your family and children in belonging to this “Pakistan community” in the last 30 years?.
We Gujjars that are initiating this are ourselves very positive and fluid in our thinking making us a very amicable group. We seek no automatic selection on to the Gujjar Tanseam committee. Furthermore there are those of us who strongly feel that they will not want to sit on the committee if a young talented individual comes forward. It is our wish that positions on the committee should be based on individual merit and not patronisation.
Finally, there is a quote that I would like you to consider and think about and it is this
Ask not what the Gujjar community can do for you my friend
More over what you can do for the Gujjar community.
The train with the Gujjar community is on the move and we would like you to come on aboard and be the guiding influence to help us to achieve the goal we seek.
