jat means Jatthedar who were converted to budhdha Jatthedars in 600 AD. originally they were Gurjars only.
And Due to the exploitation and ignorant policies of Muslim and British rulers Gurjars are facing such a downfall. They couldnt settle down at one place. tahts why they became sheperds and now we hardly find any famous gurajsr except Rajesh pilot and sardar patel.
ANyways the first Victoria cross was given to kamal nath gurjar for his bravery agaisnt germans,
and last but not the least you JATS are no doubt in a very good situation nowadyas but will you tell me just one thing

I cannot change your thinking about Jats. However, would like to say one thing. It does not matter what you were, it always matter what you are. Even I know that Gujjars are brave and To be honest I have some very good gujjar friends. Gujjars population in India is 15 Crore, Rajput's is 4 Crore, Yadav's is 5 Crore and Jat's are 3 Crore. Inspite of having the largest population of Gujjars in India as compared to other martial races like Jat, rajput and Yadav. Gujjars are far behind all these castes wether it is in sports, politics, education, poverty, literacy or entertainment they are not anyhere near to all of tese castes. Indian govt has doen nothing to all these castes. These castes themselves have raised their level. Gujjars might have great history but today people look at them with a very different way. Only because you guys have not raise your level according to the current society.
I will gave you one eg, Mayawati made the District Gautam Budh Nagar. Gautam Budh belong to which caste everybody knows. The majority of the population in the district is of Gujjars. So now nobody think that you are real khastriya. Everybody knows gujjars are either surrounded by Gobar or Buffaloes. No body think that a Gujjar can become movie star or sportsman or Army officer or Politician. Let me tell you this year Mr India is also Jat for Haryana.

Hi Gujjar GentalMan,
This Madhav Real Gujjar from Maharashtra. We are settled on the border of Gujarath and Maharashtra. We are 5 miles from Gujarath and 10 miles from MP but we fall in Maharashtra.
We are well settle and were doing good till 3-4 years back. we are also farmers and had our own Gujjar community sugar cane factory, Cotton Mill, Paper plant our own colleges schools and so on our area is around 100 miles from Nandurbar District till Jalgaon District. We re settle in 3 districts Nandurbar, Dhulia, and Jalgaon.
But due to bad mansoon and bad politice and the law change in favour of Adivasis people our gujjar community started Degrading. Now Our situation is also bad. We are looking to improve our situation. We knew Rajesh Pilot very well he also visited our area few times so he was aware of Gujjar brothers in our area.
I am planing to develope the Gujjar website called egujar.com its in progress and will be online after few months. This site is going to explain how we migrated and from where and where are we located all over India. also I like to have all gujjars from all area from Pakistan to India to participated in this web site. If works I will introduce matrimonial fro gujjar so boys and girls of gujjar can marry from one area to other area.
We have lots of guys looking for girls may be it will work. We are in shortage of girls.

Compare Jat with Jatav and not with Warrior clans Gujjar Rajputs Yadavs etc. This is to warn you that don’t act like a Virus ( Which does not have any strength of its own but survive on the strength of body of their host) since now you have been exposed. Yes if you want to prove the characteristic of your clan you do it but if you want to get some respect by using Gujjar surname it is also OK but don’t ill inform others. Here are the real facts to correct you. Please be aware that this is not a forum of illiterate jats or Panchayat of illiterate jats where any thing can be accepted but a internet site where by pressing a button lot of right information is available.
Facts 1: The Gujjars hold the very Rich Land in Western UP despite fighting the battles against Ahmad Shah Abdali single handedly (Maratha were on the other side of Yamuna and did not crossover the river to extend help to various Gujjar Kingdoms of western UP) and Britishers in 1857. In 1857 the Gujjars demolished Matcalf House in delhi, the Symbol of British Power in India at that time. This all happened within a span of 100-125 years and it was difficult for any Warrior clan to regain their lost energy and Power in such battles in such a short period of time. Jats have no history at all except ditching the country by siding the British in 1857. With a Maratha fight with abdali the Jat Kingpin Surajmal of Bharatpur could not even dare to join the battle and after the martahas were defeated he begged the pardon to save his ass by keeping his topi at the feet of Holker ( a Gadaria from Mathura) which Holker accepted and pardoned him since Gadaria being a higher caste than Jats.
Fact 2. All the caste Regiments in India are made by Britishers and not by the Government of India. In fact Britisher found extremely difficult to find foot Soldiers from the Warrior castes like Gujjars, Rajputs Brahmins Yadavs and Mughals (Muslims) etc. otherwise there would have been Regiments of Gujjars, Brahmins, Yadav and Mughals who ruled India for more than any other clan. Pre independence Gujjar were part of Punjab Regiments which has gone to Pakistan hence taken into consideration the same origin of Gujjars and Rajputs the Govt. of India merged their portion of Punjab Regiment to Rajput Regiment. Shame on Gujjars that you people are calling them brave, Rajputs and Brahmins had a great nexus between them. This is the reson most of the history is written by Brahmins in favour of Rajputs. Tell me if Jat or Gujjar Raja give their daughter to some other caste they are called as Characterless and if Rajput are giving them, than what should we call them. Just because of these Rajputs Mughals were able to Rule Nothern India because they were helping them by working in their armies and people do not call them traitors. Whole India knows that Rajputs give their daughters to Mughlas Rajas as well as to British and to Jats as well.

•The Rajputs then sought employment in the Mughal army; some, like Man Singh of Amber, rose to the highest positions as provincial commanders.
•Unions between the Rajputs and the Mughals were mutually advantageous: the Mughals secured reliable allies; the Rajputs benefitted from privileges in the imperial army and influence at Akbar’s court.

Also note that When Akbar fought Rajputs of Chittod, that time Raja Udai Singh fled away to hills leaving his kingdom.

I am telling you, gujjars always talk about history because they know they are totally screwed up and f**ked in present.
However Jat have proud history and present.
